Makes sense to offer awd. Couldn't help it. Ford makes some food vehicles, just wouldn't buy a diesel.

10 speed transmission paired with a ford diesel? stupid

That right there tells you that the engine is too weak to be hooked up with a 5-6 speed transmission. Diesel sucks.

I'm sure the 10 speed will help with fuel economy. We're getting 15 average with our mid roof Transit after 3500 miles, with a 570, water tank, and all the goodies, mostly City driving

Then again my 19 ram has an 8 speed, where my 14 had a 6 and they both get the same shitty gas mileage

that there tells you its a diesel..

ie it makes it power way earlier than gasoline, and will push you off the line earlier and easier.
But it doesn't make power all the way through its rev range and you will be changing up earlier

Duramax is also making a 10 speed. I think they will be good units.
They are already out. They do shift nice and tow well, I've used one. Duramaxes drive great, but if you ever have to work on it, or pay for work to be done, they are a pain. Injectors on either a powerstroke or Duramax are 30+hrs of labor. I've changed done head gaskets and injectors on both. The same job on a Cummins is 8 or so hours and nearly half the cost of parts. Really no comparison if you keep them over 150k miles.
