Cotton Velvet stiff after cleaning

Sort of stiff before but stiffer afterwards.

A good vigorous brushing with a horse hair softened it up enough to please the customer.

Mild acidic pre spray, soft water rinse.


Acid rinse the next time?

Wire (carding) brush to set the nap. Would Fab Set rinse soften?

Cleaned four pieces of old white cotton brocade today. Was my last job, so experimented with Judson O2 @ 3 oz. Too weak, went to 8oz plus 1 oz. citrus solve. Tried rinsing it with Judson (neutral). Got some browning on the piping, so rerinsed with Fab Set. Did the job.
