I put out a brush fire.

Mrs piff calls and says she spilled paint on the carpet. So out I go and suck up some latex. As I am talking with her husband outside we see a small fire up the street and his neighbor frantically trying to put it out. I pull the truck up and us the pressure hose to put it out. Not to big, about 30 by 30 feet. That was my good deed for today.

That's when you have the person call the local TV station. If it's a slow news day you get a bunch of good PR. I was looking around for a brush fire to put out all last summer. I see them all the time during fire season, just haven't been lucky enough to be on the right side of the freeway or in my carpet van when I drive by them. Been waiting for that "Hero Carpet Cleaner" PR.
