We’ve had a little run on water losses from brief cold snap that passed through. 3-Monday, 2-yesterday and 2-already this morning.
One of the losses we started Monday was a real soaker, the couple was away for the Holiday’s and the city saw water running down the drive and called the landlord.
Nice duplex, well it was a nice duplex, we are removing the carpet, the flooring, some drywall, kitchen cabinets, it’s a bad one.
So Tuesday my supervisor was over checking on the crews progress when another city employee asked if he would move his Transit. Which he went out to do, the city employee apologized for the inconvenience but said they need to get the backhoe in there and look for the main break.
They had a crew with a dump truck and backhoe, already had the asphalt marked where they planned to dig first when my supervisor told him all the water came from the duplex.
The city guy got on his radio and called it off.
What if the Transit hadn’t been in the way???
