Emulsifier used property is like insurance.

It helps mask poor wanding or flushing.

You just have to think, what cleans better? Water? Or soap and water? The main thing to consider is your dilution ratios. Pay attention to the instructions and your water condition. Never use a heavier concentration. You won't be able to rinse it out. Sometimes, less is more.

Why would you want to leave a chemical in the carpet? I sleep better at night knowing I rinsed it all out, and I eat meat!

Using a properly prepared extraction detergent will remove your prespray more efficiently from the carpet and will not leave any harmful residue, plus it will remove more soil

Ive always felt the same as you. that's why I rinsed the carpet with just plain water for 13 years. Then the last two years I've been using acid rinses and sodium carbonate (imitation of ZeroRez's softening system) to help rinse the carpet.

The results have been better than rinsing with just tap water (ph of around 7 in my area). I've been back to the jobs with my acid rinses and the customers have loved how the carpet has turned out.

But as for the emulsifier? Once this sample is gone, I don't see a need to buy any more.

Deionized water rinse only.

I have water only rinsed for years. It's important to have a pre-spray that has good rinse agents built in (stpp). I use cobbs powermax and add some stain resist powder to get some extra stpp. Unbelievable results. Pre-spray - CRB - and then use the biggest baddest rinse truck on the planet.

A truckmounts only job is to rinse and suck.

Quit using chemicals in your rinse and leaving carpets with chemical residue.

Irregardless of whether the benefits of using an emulsifier are noticeable to the operator or not, logic alone should tell you that a rinse solution with an additional cleaning agent will deliver superior results to one without.

It's not rocket surgery.

With that logic in mind (devils advocate) a fresh water rinse would leave less residue in the carpet...

And rockets don't need surgery, unless your from North Korea....

Neither is knowing there is no word "Irregardless". I got caught on that one in a speech class.

I use an acid rinse because flex with citrus solve is my pre spray. I cover my ass.

Any discussion about chemicals must be taken in context of equipment used. And it is not as simple as Porty/TM.

All truck mounts are not equal.

Big difference between machines and the cleaning power of hot water.

Our two restaurants in Scruz have noticed a big improvement in how long the carpet stays clean one we got off the purest fad and used some Slurry in the rinse

This one got a good Slurry today too...

So if it works in a grimy restaurant, why don't you think it works in homes. Try it and bring a ph indicator pen with you and measure the wet carpet after cleaning. You will be surprised at the reading. It's normal to feel the residue of your rinse agent when wet. The true test is how it dries. Go back a few days after the job and see if you can feel any sticky residue. Bet you can't if you used a quality detergent.
