$10,000 rug

“Yeah Right” I thought to myself as I picked up this 13.6 x 9.6 tufted wool rug. The customer is convinced it's worth 10 G’s. I could see his face twitch when I tried to educate him, but I shut up when I saw it was a waste of time.

Anyway. I got this wool/Silk (Probably fake silk) rug that’s loaded with red stains and urine. Oh the fun I’m going to have.

Overstock.com has these listed for about $360.

I have a similar runner in the shop. Dog has been peeing down the right hand side. Piece of crap. You need to make sure they realize that their rug is ruined and you are trying to salvage it. Don't let their problem become your problem.

few months back I got asked to give quote on a "beautiful rug" get there and its a cheap poly frieze

I suggested she might like to buy a new one or I could clean it for $100

she wanted it cleaned, when I got it home found it had a $900 price tag on the backing.. quick google search and I found it online for $75.. perfect crime

I have an Iranian family who has beautiful authentic Persian rugs which we have cleaned several times and they have no concerns about but they were very nervous letting me cleaning this Natuzzi mostly polyester rug. They are used to the Persian rugs but the Natuzzi was a new experience for them.

Fred, I gotta give you a lot of credit here. I looked through 50 pages on overstock.com looking for this exact rug. Thanks. I'm going to just bite my tongue and not show the customer. Being right all the time isn't that important to me. Good find!

Well, lets see here., It's wool, it's tufted, it's very large, its urine and gatorade covered...... I'm charging.

I cleaned a wool, hand woven rug on Friday in the clients home. She originally wanted it taken away.
Problem was, it was in her great room, it was 25’ x 40’, was probably 2 1/2” thick, and the coffee table on it was custom made, and probably weighed around 400 lbs....
Even with 2 of us, a lift buddy, and slides, it took ALOT of effort just to get it moved to clean the coffee stain from around one of the edges...
Suffice to say, we were able to get it moved, I wasn’t about to move the sectional couch on it, as it too was a custom piece...
We were however able to get 12 foam blocks under the coffee table, and I’m sure it could have used probably 4 more.....
I’m pretty sure that rug was worth north of 10K.....
