Brycey Boy, are you a pre-vac and clean type, a crb and clean, or a straight clean type of cleaner? I ask because the Zipper SS is more maintenance over the regular.. Hair gets wrapped around the spinners and if not taken care of can mess up the bearing.. I do reach for the 15" SS on commercial jobs over my 13" Zipper.. The 2" plays a big part.. Even if it's not heavily soiled, 15" makes quicker work of it.. As for residential, you could use it but it's more for commercial..

You can use anything anywhere, but is it the right tool for the task is more the question.....? It's doable and I've done it, but prefer the 360i/xl or crb and wand for residential.. It's a different movement and you'll learn to go into a room and clean the entry first, before sectioning off or squaring the room off..

Hope that helps!

I'm a prevac, crb (or 175/fiber pad for commercial), and then clean type of cleaner.

I only focused on being able to knock out commercial more quickly and with better results. The possible use of a Zipper on empty residential was an afterthought, not important. Does the Zipper SS really make a big difference in results when cleaning trashed greasy restaurant carpet?

Super spinner is pushing usually 1000 psi.

So pressure washing carpet.

That's why you need a big blower to use it.

That and hot water to keep up with the flow.

A lot of success comes from chemistry, you can't clean a greasy spoon with out a higher ph enzyme/citrus /butyl combo.

Something has to suspend and break the soil free, the SS will speed up the rinsing.

I personally wouldn't try any type of spinner on a cut pile carpet or residential piled carpet.

I would be afraid of crop circles.

If your doing a boatload of commercial jobs in restaurants then yeah the SS is probably what you want.

If you have one restaurant a month maybe not.
