My twin 3 year old grandsons got the carpet in their playroom last week with magic markers. Thank goodness the orange and blue came out with nothing more than Primetime and hot water. The red required a mix of Fels and a spotter that that I can never remember the name of … even though I’ve used it for years.
I feel like Vawter.
It’s a name brand that everyone else can instantly remember. It’s a gold jug with a *********. I think it say super spotter somewhere on it.

I would have been all over it 1500$ and I’ll come spend the day there lol

I had a similar job where a water damage company hired some less than legal guys off the corner to do the job and somehow the ink on these guys blue jeans bled all over everywhere they kneeled

Goo gone removes ink easily.

It may take 3 applications on the thicker spots that don't come out with normal cleaning.

I asked her what became of this

Went over it three times between a home carpet cleaner and I ended up calling a different cleaning company to come and go over it too. Most of the blue is out, just a light tinge residual in some areas, and there was some red/pink pen that won't come out for anything. I think it's as good as it's gonna get.

Back in my noob days I would have taken on this job. Like many of the 8-hour long urine jobs I used to do. But now, I walk from these. I just don't like being married to jobs anymore. I even turn down most flood work and repairs now.

If I'm feeling nice I may do some upholstery.
My famous restaurant called the other day and it's been probably a year and a half, I referred them to carpet cops

This comment that I directed to Marty on another thread suits your feelings as well Damon

When I discuss things like this with my 55+ customers, I often say:

"Are you at the stage of your business where you need to impress people with your skills, or where you need less customers, less hassles, and more time relaxing?"

That often has a bearing on their interest in solving crazy problems like this

Further:

I have a nice young man (29) who texts me nearly every day with pictures like that one, or otherwise horribly abused furnishings or floors.

When I try to tell him he has a thankless, sisyphean task ahead that will cost more than he can charge and make no one happy, he usually replies:

"Yeah, but I want to try anyway"

Most of you here have long outgrown that stage, but he's only two years into the business, so......
