Correcting photobleaching with crayons.

On my other thread today regarding the billiard talbe leg repairs, I had trouble at the end of the room where there is enormous northern light (southern hemisphere) and the carpet has lost some of it's yellow.

When I added the new offcuts, the donors looked yellow.

Now probably in a short time frame, a few weeks to a few months, the donors will go the same way, BUT, I couldn't seem to tone it down any.

unfortunately I don't have a photo showing it sorry.

Any ideas?

In some cases, like with a manufacturing defect when I want to see if a color modification would work, I do a small test area with some white chalk. Then I walk around to view from all angles. If it looks good then, I'll carry on with the crayon fix.
If it doesn't, I'll brush the chalk away or vacuum if there is one nearby.

Hope that helps.

Best color to kill yellow is a mauve or light purple.
