This is a break room I did yesterday that I do 3 times a year. The equipment I use is a kiavac 1750, 17” floor machine with conditioning pads, and a flat mop. I spray the floor with water and top scrub the poor layers of finish down to a good layer. To apply the finish I use a microfiber flat mop. I pour finish straight from the bottle and spread. No mop and bucket. With high and low spots it will look splotchy but will not be noticeable after the finish is applied. Sometimes it might take 2 maybe 3 coats of finish. It depends on how much you have to remove. When I’m done applying finish I keep the flat mop in a trash bag to keep it fresh. This break room is 1340 sq ft @ .60 sq ft. So one coat is all I do. It takes me about 5 hrs. with moving tables and all. When scrubbing the floor it is more like a wet sanding than making a slurry when using stripper solution. You don’t want it to dry but if it does it dries to a powdery film which can be wiped off. You cannot do that when using a stripper solution you would have to re-apply.
