Heathrow you are funny . But if it is an area rug to me a straight needle is just as easy. Now if the material is installed I will use a curved needle. A curved needle takes allot more experiencence mate and that is not a lie. When working with a curved needle it is totaly opposite .

Umm, nope - you've been doing some roping methinks. For those that may not know, you can get a lasoo in right or left handed config.

Most of our yarn is twisted as an 'S' twist, or clockwise direction.

Every now and then we do come across a 'J' twist ('Z' twist for you fellas over there) which is twisted in an anticlockwise direction.

Do you come across much Z twist Tony?

Oh, and to answer the question that some are probably about to ask, yes you do need to change your direction of re tufting (re burling), in a loop pile carpet, if you come across a J or a Z twist. If you don't, the loop(s) will twist sideways.

Nope, not very often M but I do come across loopy or twisted people on a regular basis.
