Anyone know anything about this company?

My niece had them out today to clean 3 rooms and a rug in her condo. They did the cleaning of the 3 average sized rooms for $200. They then told her that they needed to take the 8 x 10 tufted rug into the shop for cleaning because the machine they had was so hot it would melt the glue on the rug... for an additional $300.

She bought the rug new for $360.

Any know of any reliable cleaners I can recommend in the future?

Nothing wrong with their pricing.

Melting the glue on the rug is a little shady. They could come up with a better excuse
I agree but many tufted rugs are a pain in the ass to clean. You always do a better job in the shop. The value of the rug has no bearing on the cost of cleaning. Up to the customer to replace or clean.

Ahem Brian sells them, and is responsible for Cleaning more rugs in a week the you’ll see in a lifetime.

So I think he wouldn’t be asking if he didn’t know.

Hagopian cough cough.

I know but it sounds like he's just complaining about the price. Whatever the tech says to get the rug in the shop may be bogus but at least he gets it in the shop where it belongs. Haven't heard if they did an acceptable job or not.

It didn't have as much to do with the price as it did with the line the guy used. It felt pretty shady, so I wondered if anyone here might know if they had a reputation for doing that. She hasn't gotten the rug back, so we shall see how it turns out.o

FYI, our price to pick up, clean and deliver that same rug is $149.99. And if you bring it in, we give you 25% off.

I hear you, it's a lame excuse for sure especailly because he is likely using a portable. Each area of the country is different. Here, condos have a wide variation on access difficulty and the time it takes to access them (for some It's taken 45 miutes and I had to walk several blocks underground). Heck stanley steamers condo minimum is $175 in this area fot that reason. @Brian H , is this pricing above your pricing for a condo. If it was that dirty and needed offsite cleaning I'd have just told her to buy a new one.

I have raised my price to $250 to pick up a rug in home. A little less if it's close by. It's just by the time I drive and pick it up, clean it at the shop and drive back to deliver it, there's not much profit left. I have dry cleaner agents around town where people can drop off their rugs and have them cleaned at a much lower cost. I pick up and deliver on my own time so it's usually when I'm passing by. Brian, I'm sure you have full time people doing pick up and deliveries. Stands to reason that you can do it for less with your volume. I agree, it's a shady line, I hope he's not the tech who actually cleans the rug.
