Medi-Care and Aetna supplement Took it up the bung hole from Blue Cross for years. There’s not many that don’t pay for themselves one way or another. My last premium $1600 for the 2 of us. Now I put that toward my house and shop.

It’s Outstanding! My wife has had two surgeries in two years to the tune of nearly if not a 100k. Didn‘t cost me a cent! 0, Nada! My cost is regular Medicare premium of course, and $114.00 ea. for our supplement. Best part of getting old!!! Only part actually

Christian healthcare ministries, $450/ month for the family with a $500/per incident deductible. Only used them for my youngest getting his tonsils out, but they paid 100%, that was like 11 grand. Doctors appts and stuff we pay out of pocket.

Same here. I'm on the Gold policy with my wife and we're paying about the same. My parents are on it, and they've had some surgeries and CHM took good care of them

It's been good for us for now, but with young kids I'd sleep better at night with "real" insurance. My wife is training to be a bus driver so we can get on that good gubmint insurance. CHM is based about 15 minutes from my shop and has a great reputation

The insurance companies say a lot, it is irrelevant until they get the government to force you to buy insurance.

Our renewal is in April but we have to look at other plans or the individual marketplace because our carrier now won’t allow groups with just owner and spouse as insured. We have employees but they both have insurance that’s cheaper elsewhere. Not sure what we will do yet for next plan year

In Canada, the majority of our Medicare is covered by our income taxes with some times a modest premium applied in certain provinces. I still have additional blue cross for dental, drugs and other coverage. I wonder if it all balances out compared to your taxes.

The wife got us on Group Source. They beat the hell out of blue cross. Every prescription is $5. If I had to out of pocket my meds would be around 1100 bucks.a month. Blue Cross was 25% after you hit a certain spend. I get all the dental, physio,chiropractor etc. as well. You should look into it.

We were on this for a few months while my wife finished her accounting degree a few years back. Thankfully we didn't have to use it, but if she gets tired of being a teacher, we will go back to this. As I get older, leaving and going south for a month each winter looks more and more better. We can't do that if she is teaching.

Awwww. No worries. Fistula fixed and hemorrhoids moped off, 112 stiches on the purple starfish....Doc gave me leritine for pain.or pain. Third dose nearly killed me. Turns out I was allergic.

His surgeon was trained at a highly rated school in the U.S. Same with his oral surgeon. This might not be the solution for everyone but keep the idea in the back of your mind if something big comes up.

Went down to visit my wife’s brother in Monterey, Nuevo León, for thanks giving a few of years back.

the day before we we’re going out fly back,I was chewing A piece of gum and feel a crunch between teeth, well I have somehow cracked my tooth and now had a piece of my tooth missing.

so against my better judgment my brother in law took me to his dentist( that was a gringo dentist) that studies in the US and moved back to mexico, so he Would fix me up like as if I was still in the us.

walk in to the office and literally there is the reception area and one operating/exam room, no receptionist so we just waited. About 30 minutes later a Guy comes out of the back exam room and says hi, I’m the dentist, please follow me. FELT SUPER REASSURED AT THIS POINT, NOT!!!

but hey I’m there already and don’t want this to get worse.

so he checks it out and asks, do you want the cheap and fast. Or the expensive better fitting longer lasting solution.

i said the latter and he asked me if I was sure as it would cost 1000 pesos, after doing a quick calculation in my head and realizing 1000 pesos was like 55 dollars, I told him if he did good and took his time I would give him a 100 dollar bill, to which he replied that, this wasn’t necessary.

grinding and polishing out a tooth smells horrible, btw.

2-3 hours later BOOM!, my tooth was fixed and is still doing good almost 3.5 years later.

and yes I gave him the Benjamin as he didn’t even hurt me.

my brother has to have a tooth fixed here and it cost him 2200.00 and had to do multiple visits to get it right.

I was with one of the Religious health sharing networks before turning 65. I never had to use it so I don't know how good it was. I haven't used Medicare yet either. When the ACA came in my insurance went from $420 ish to $1100.

I tried the Obamacare site just out of curiosity and filled out the form. I hear horror stories about the cost but I didn't find any horror stories at all.

For my 15 year old son and I, no government subsidiaries, I can get a decent plan for $800 per month with a 7k deductible. Regular doctor visits included.

I have a cushy government job now and have a 7k deductible.

I think many people bash the Obamacare stuff out of partisan thinking. Not saying it's perfect, but it's way better than I thought it would be.

The only thing to my knowledge to be on guard with on the Christian health care or similar is the hospital could attempt to sign you up for a 3rd party financing company without your permission to send the bill directly to the patient which puts the patient at risk of getting their treatment payed by the CHC because the patient gets the bill sent from the 3rd party financing company, instead of the Hospital, which in turn, the CHM could decline it. And when the patient sends them the 3rd party bill, instead of the medical bill from the hospital, they have the right to decline that payment. So the most important thing to remember with that is to decline the hospital's attempt to bring in the 3rd party financing company.

As a youngster, I was under my mom's insurance. She is a teacher and I got used to excellent "free" health care. Turned 21 or whatever and with type 1 diabetes I couldn't get health care. Pre disposed conditions simply weren't covered in the early 2000s. I paid out of pocket for Canadian pharmacy s to ship stuff. Obamacare made it possible for my health to improve drastically. I got back into way better care after that.
Last year it went up to like $700 a month or so for me and my wife. Still cheaper than out of pocket for meds, but it seemed like alot for a 32 and 29 yr old. Good thing I kept it because in March I was diagnosed with Colon cancer. I met my Max pay out of 7k in less than a month of men's, cat scans, pet scans. Surgeon, oncogist, general, radiologist, ECT.......... Last year would have sucked without legitimate blue Cross covered california insurance.
Even as a skinny, healthy, non smoking athletic 32 yr old, insurance can be a lifesaver.
