yep get asked regularly but also had a lady recoil in horror and get all indignant "Im not that dirty how dare you!"

Who's honest enough to tell the customer that you haven'the cleaned the inside of your tank for weeks/months? Dirty water don't mean shI..te
A true indicator would be the filter basket...if you run one.

That works well too. But you can see varying colors when dumping... And we do clean out the tanks.... On occasion

On large commercial jobs, I use an old clear plexi-glass pump out. People become mesmerized by how black the water is.
