This flooring was just cleaned however you can see a clear darker area under the dining table where they removed an area rug and do not plan to put it back. I am trying to determine if the areas around where the rug was have lightened due to all the direct sunlight under the windows there or if the area under the rug actually darkened due to the rug off-gassing?
In the first photo the lightened area is at the top of the photo and the second photo shows the lighter area to the right side.

I assumed vinyl because off gassing residue would easily be cleaned off of stone or tile. Ever seen short-term stone or tile fading?

Is there a moisture issue?

Some rugs can cause the floor to retain moisture.

On second look at the picture it looks like it could be something they are cleaning the floor with causing a hazy look.

Under the table looks nicer.
