Anything you roll out on a damp carpet is going to slow down drying.
Most people except Bob figured that out in the seventies.

Yes Bob we do on occassion put down paper if the customer insists. Decades ago when I was on the truck each crew went therough a roll a week at least. Now it is more like a roll every month or so, and often this is cause it got wet and ruined. We still buy a couple dozen rolls a month I think.
