It's not just a basement full of Apple shares, it attaining a life style where you always feel like you're on vacation, even while you're at work...

How about you, whats been your success so far?
Kids doing well?
Business on auto mode?
A BMW in the garage and an 86" Samsung?
Loads of rentals?
A cupboard in your mancave full of Little Debbie Snack Cakes?

all 3 kids are doing great..oldest has a good job with a great future...middle kid works with me and hopefully one day will take it over...youngest is doing great in school..Joined ROTC classes..plans on finishing it out and taking a 4-year scholarship and then inlisting as an officer...
I have a comfortable home...a comfortable lifestyle..not overdone..good enough for us......everything we need...
I have a successful business running 16 years now...that we worked hard at and was built from the ground up....
we managed to pay all our vehicles and work trucks off...
I am only on the truck on average.. less than half the year...so I have another company on the side that I do to keep me busy when I am not on the truck...

I think you’re living a great version of it Mike, the cliched statement of ‘doing what you want to do’ defines success for me. The weeks are filled with events involving my wife and kids.

heading to NYC this weekend to see my oldest perform in his Acapella group and then skiing with middle in New Hampshire the following day

successis a journey, and with my kids healthy, and working towards their careers, I’m finding the ride quite enjoyable

PS. And to answer your “then why so pissy here? ‘ question Marty it’s simple.....

I like to see the reaction, it tells me a lot about the person

that’s great to hear Jim,glad the kids are all doing well. My Katie is thinking about going to a State University but has no clue what she wants to do. She’d love to continue modeling but unless she moves to NYC she’s only going to continue getting day jobs in Boston

Success is as they say, working your business and not in it. Managing in lieu of grinding! We’re finally there after 30 yrs. Our 2 girls, 41 and 43, work with us. We all attend the same church, (not a cult) (not Catholics), although that’s
our core business. God has a sense of humor!!! We work 18 hr. days 7 days a week, but we don’t personally any longer. That is success! We’re not that smart, God just blesses us.

Life has it's ups and downs and that keeps it interesting...and sometimes fun but not always.
Not sure what success is but probably being happy where ever you are is close.

The pursuit of success is ever changing; when I was a kid I thought being a rich guy was success. My Grandparents were wealthy so I know what that looks like. It's a part of success...having enough. Rich people have other problems...rich people problems.

I feel successful because my wife, kids and grand kids love me. About all that really matters to me.

Mike your success can be measured in RMH people sleeping in clean rooms and walking on clean floors. Happy to be a small part of this MB family.

At a party given by a billionaire on Shelter Island, Kurt Vonnegut informs his pal, Joseph Heller, that their host, a hedge fund manager, had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his wildly popular novel Catch-22 over its whole history.

Heller responds,“Yes, but I have something he will never have”.

"What could that possibly be?", asked Vonnegut.

Heller answered, "Enough".

She’s my second oldest granddaughter.
My wife is teaching her to sew. We bought her her own machine for Christmas. My point is that our grandkids would rather be with us as anywhere else at this point in their lives. My wife never worked and spent a lot of time with our kids, and now our grandkids. I’m not so focused on my business that I won’t leave early or take a day off to spend with them. I want them to be looking forward to seeing us again as they are drawing their last breath ... many years from now.

As it should be

Who knew Porkbutt could define success so eloquently?

My oldest grand daughter is 30. I’m her sounding board. In high school, college, and now her career. Lives in Ark., married with 2 babies. Called me today fussing about her job. I talk her through it. To me that is success😀

Success is defined as "the achievement of a goal or Purpose".
I've always been driven by acquiring wealth; to do this I worked extreme hours, neglecting other areas of my life.
After spending 4 days in the hospital, I realized I needed a more balanced life.

"Neglect Your Health, Lose Your Wealth"-- I'm concerned about you @Nomad74
My Blood pressure and sugar levels have returned to normal since switching to a primarily plant-based diet.
I try to avoid salt, sugar, dairy, carbs, processed foods, and meat.
I've lost 9 lbs already, but I am still considered overweight and working on it.

While at work, I work at a more reasonable pace. I've increased my prices enabling me to do fewer jobs in the day.
I now have more time for exercise and family.

Success is Health and Balance in life for me.

I have GrandBabbies, I have puppies, I have cleaning vans, a good business or two.... and have set up the family for their futures and keep giving them the tools to continue a path to continued success. I have done the best I can currently do. There are moments (and a lot currently) of great challenges yet taking on new endeavors.

I can for the most part handle the new challenges... My family not as much... And that then will create more stress for me... But everything I have done has always had challenges and I probably wouldn't change. I have always ran into the fire vs away from it... Even when I was a teacher I did the same... and I feel there were amazing rewards even though a lot of scars go with it.

Money hasn't been the drive for me but having extra cash helps.... And helps to allow me to do more especially for the family... Again, tradeoffs though...

Right now I just need to get through the current strain of extra wanted reequiments from new people involved in my life that are excited to tap into new things.

I will show new scars later...
