What color pad did you use to strip it? And how did you know it was aluminum oxide? I've never heard of that type of finish which is why I'm asking. Is it something that's common on the west side or is that common everywhere?

Most pricey wood floors are AO finish these days. When you see very few, if any scratches, little to no fading and a dark color on a hand scraped look finish that can't be sanded without destroying the look, those are your clues...
